Li-Fi Tecnology

Li-Fi was invented by Harald Haas from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland back in 2011, when he demonstrated for the first time that by flickering the light from a single LED, he could transmit far more data than a cellular tower. Think back to that lab-based record of 224 gigabits per second - that's 18 movies of 1.5 GB each being downloaded every single second.

    What is Li-Fi Technology ?

Li-fi stands for Light-Fidelity, it is a visual light communication     (VLC)system which runs wireless communication at a more high speed.

Li - fi uses common household LED(light emitting diods to enable data transfer, boasting speeds of up to 224 gigabits per second.

    Li-fi vs Wi-fi ?

Li-fi is more like wi-fi but wifi uses radio signal whereas Li-fi uses
visual light communication  (VLC) . The benefits of Li-Fi over Wi-Fi, other than potentially much faster speeds, is that because light cannot pass through walls, it makes it a whole lot more secure,
it workes at a speed 100 times faster than a wi-fi signal. Also we could increase or decrease the speed according to our wish.where radio signal harms the bees and  human in some aspect Li-fi does not harm in any way.

cars cars easily   transmit  signal with each other

There is a disadvantage of  Li-fi from wi-fi it has a short range but this problem can easily be fixed when a LED Li-fi is swiched on it create a circle of its influence ,but when a person leaves the   circle and enter into another network circle   it automatically  connects to the other network  without any interruption . Hence increasing its range .This type of technology can bring a great change in our  near future .

"All we need to do is fit a small microchip to every potential illumination device and this would then combine two basic functionalities: illumination and wireless data transmission."

Haas said. "In the future we will not only have 14 billion light bulbs, we may have 14 billion Li-Fis deployed worldwide for a cleaner, greener, and even brighter future."
